Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Coffee chocolate is a 70% dark, caramel filled bar. Strong coffee aromas emanate from the package as soon as you rip open the foil wrapper. I love the smell of coffee!

How Is This Cold Brew Coffee Chocolate Bar?

The chocolate is rich and bold, no doubt enhanced by coffee flavors. I can taste coconut notes in the background. The ground coffee beans provide a great crunch, as well as an extra boost of flavor when chewing.

The caramel filling is soft and slightly runny. I don’t taste much caramel, however. I can’t detect any buttery notes, just coffee and maybe a bit of honey. It does have the texture of soft caramel though. The color of the filling is dark, like coffee, and not the typical light brown color of caramel. The filling and the chocolate blend well together. I like that it’s not too sweet.

Looking at the ingredients listed on the back of the box, this bar is definitely a cold brew coffee lover’s dream. There’s a triple threat: cold brew coffee concentrate blend, espresso powder, and ground coffee beans.

Honestly, you don’t need to be a cold brew lover to enjoy this chocolate. If you love coffee, you’ll love this bar. If you love coffee and chocolate together, you’ll love this bar. If you love Trader Joe’s prices, you’ll love this bar. I can’t imagine anyone NOT loving this bar!

Speaking of loving this bar, I have a special person in mind to give this bar to as a gift. I know he loves coffee as much as I do.

I have a great memory of giving him a special blend of coffee for Christmas one year. He squeezed the bag and breathed it in. That was all it took. He opened the bag and brewed a pot for the two of us to enjoy even before the gift giving was over!

If you're wondering who I gave that coffee to, it wasn't my hubby (he didn’t like coffee at the time). But you're on the right track. It’s my father-in-law.

Now we can have a cup of coffee and eat it too!

(I did find this bar available on Amazon, though it seemed a bit pricey. If you have a Trader Joe's near you, that's clearly the better way to buy this one.)
