The Art Of Eating A Chocolate

Eating a chocolate varies depending on people’s intention, time, location, etc. I could just tell you to pop it in your mouth and munch on it and this article will be over, huh? But to some people, it would mean savoring the different flavors and aroma and getting lost into it, just like how you would be mesmerized on a specific work of art.

Time and Location
Inspecting an art takes time, so if you don’t have the time to eat a chocolate properly then just postpone it until you are ready. Eating a chocolate in an ideal setting with an ample time intensifies the flavors, compared when you are grabbing a bar on the run.
Ideally, you would want to be in a comfortable place. Preferably your cozy chair, with some background music, and without distractions. That means away from your phone and away from the noise of the world.
Quality Bars
As the saying goes, choose wisely. A good chocolate is a powerful one. Craft chocolate bars offer a great package with their quality paper and foil packaging and beautiful molds so eat with your eyes first. Appearance is part of the whole attraction. Does looking at your chocolate bar make you feel excited?
The color of the bar shows what quality of cacao beans were used and how long it was roasted for. Deciding what type of chocolate to try contributes to the experience, so make sure to buy good quality crafted bars.
Tips when Eating a Chocolate
Wondering if you are eating a chocolate wrong? Here are some tips to make sure you enjoy it:
- Focus on your chocolate and begin by breaking the chocolate in half and inhaling the aroma.
- Melt a small piece in your tongue and sense the texture. The second one is actually more important to be able to enjoy the evolution of the different flavors.
- Resist the urge to chew. Hold it to the roof of your mouth and suck. Take note on how it melts and how it feels.
- Take your time and slowly notice any aftertaste. Quality bars offer unique flavors.
- If provided with options, always start with the softer flavors and eat the same kind at a time. Having may different kinds of chocolate all at once will blur your taste buds.
- Choose your pairings. The complexity in the flavors of chocolates increases when paired with wine, coffee, tea, or beer. You can even opt to try nuts or cheese and dried fruits. A good pairing means tasting them together and creating complimenting flavors so try as many as you can beforehand until you find the one. The possibilities are endless on this one!
- Lastly, cleanse with water before trying new varieties. However, make sure you took your time to savor that last bite. Some flavors last in your mouth so it’s better to wait for that to end before chugging your water.
