World Market Dark Chocolate Revisited

From time to time, I give a poor review of a specific chocolate. The reasons can vary, but in the end, it’s because my experience is less than satisfactory.
Sometimes, my taste buds are telling me one thing, while the tasting description offered by the manufacturer tells me something completely different. My expectations are high, the delivery is low.
But I believe in second chances.
World Market’s Dark Chocolate Ginger Wasabi

Wasabi and chocolate? I have to admit, my first thought was, “weird!” Putting wasabi and chocolate together is not something I would have thought to try.
I like wasabi, especially in microscopic amounts on my California Roll. I’m not that familiar with wasabi in terms of nuance flavors or tasting notes though, so how do I know if it pairs nicely with chocolate? Then again, how do I know it won’t?
Luxury Chocolates in Developed Markets

Considering the chocolate-lovers phenomenon, it's no wonder why chocolate gift boxes make the perfect present for almost anybody. Experts have expressed that chocolate makers have to invest in luxury and premium chocolates in order to help sales boom in well-developed markets.
The global chocolate market is estimated to be around US$107 billion for 2012 according to Euromonitor data.
A senior foods analyst from Euromonitor International, Francisco Redruello, has stated that manufacturers in the developed markets have to focus on quality while increasing investment and innovation. The only possible exception to the quality focus would be in the U.S. and Germany where there's much greater price consciousness.

World Market Brand Chocolate Bars

During the 1950s, a San Francisco businessman and importer began selling goods from one of the city’s piers. Crates were unloaded and locals lined up to buy.
Eventually, he opened a store and called it Cost Plus World Market. Unique and handmade items were sold at cost, plus ten percent – hence, the origin of the name.
Today, there are over 260 Cost Plus World Market physical stores and online shopping at www.worldmarket.com.
I have tried two World Market store brand chocolates; 72% Dark Chocolate and Ecuador Dark. Both bars were a disappointment.
