Sweet Obsession Milk Chocolate Review

Back in July of 2011 I posted a review of the Sweet Obsession chocolate bars (milk and dark).  It has been my most popular (and controversial) review as many comments were written from individuals whole heartedly disagreeing with my negative appraisal.

Queens Of Chocolate

The queens of France were allegedly the ones held responsible for the craze of drinking chocolate during their times. They brought the practice along with them from their countries of origin, or so they say.

The first queen was Anne of Austria who married Louis XIII. When the king died, she became regent and declared her immense love of chocolate. She was even given a personal chocolatier!

The second queen who had extreme love of chocolate was Maria Theresa of Austria who married Louis XIV. It is said that she only had two passions in life... the king, and you guessed right, chocolate. And according to the king, chocolate tricks hunger but does not fill the stomach.

Pure Chocolate?

As reported by the Associated Press from Brussels, at least according to the high court of the European Union, there is no such thing as pure chocolate!

In Europe, unlike in the United States, chocolate can contain other vegetable oils and still be called chocolate.  Chocolate makers in some of the European countries typically include other oils, whereas some only use cocoa butter.

Most notably Italian law permitted the use of "pure chocolate" as a designation, contrary to the 1999 legislation where all EU nations agreed that the label would make clear whether the chocolate contained cocoa butter and/or other oils.
