Endangered Species Cacao Nibs + Dark Chocolate Review
May 15, 2020
Greetings from my “safer-at-home” office! I’m still here, quickly eating through my stash of chocolates. My previous bar, Mr. Dot Bar, did not satisfy me in the least so I made sure I grabbed a familiar, never fails to please, chocolate bar brand – Endangered Species.

Another Endangered Species chocolate review – actually, two of them. Why do I keep coming back to this brand? Endangered Species Dark Chocolate with Cherries

Chocolate and cherry have a long history together. Case in point, chocolate-covered cherry cordials. At least one brand, Cella’s, started making chocolate cherries in 1864 (although large scale production didn’t start until around 1929).
The bar I’m reviewing today is made by Endangered Species brand and is NOT a cherry cordial. It does, however, have that same great taste combination. This is a 72% dark chocolate with bits of dried cherries.

Endangered Species chocolate company donates 10% of their net profits annually to their current GiveBack Partners to help wildlife thrive (to learn more, go to their website).
Each organization is able to use the funds on projects they choose. Over the past three years, more than $1.2 million has been donated. You can quickly see that each chocolate purchase adds up to big support!
You might be thinking, the cause is noble, but how’s the chocolate?

The All-Natural, 72% Dark Chocolate with Cranberries and Almonds bar is oh-so good in oh-so many ways. First of all, the flavor is excellent. The chocolate is bold with soft earthy notes. These flavors blend perfectly with the chewy cranberry pieces and crunchy almond bits.
Endangered Species brand chocolates promotes awareness and conservation of at-risk species of animals. This particular variety (cranberries and almonds) is surrounded by a wrapper that, when you read the inside, increases your knowledge about the struggles of the Gray Wolf.
