Chocolate Chip Almond Pie Recipe

Almonds have been popular since the early Bronze Age, 3,000-2,000 BC, with evidence of their fruit trees at archeological sites in Jordan, as well as Tutankhamun's tomb in Egypt.

The almond seed that we know today has been cultivated over many thousands of years. The first of the almond species were toxic, and produced deadly cyanide upon mechanical handling. Thank goodness our forefathers bred that out of the tasty seeds we enjoy today!

This recipe is a mixture of two of my favorite things - chocolate and almonds. Although I never thought I'd eat another chocolate pie after watching The Help, I think it's safe if you're the one doing the baking!

Bavarian Chocolate Pie

Getting tired of the same old chocolate cake that you serve at a dinner party? It’s about time you widened your horizons with regard to your delicacy range. This recipe you are about to learn will teach you how to whip up your own homemade Bavarian chocolate pie in a jiffy.

Just so you know, Bavarian cream is a cold dessert made out of egg custard that was stiffened with the use of gelatin. It is combined with whipped cream, and then set in a mold. It can also be used as a delectable filling for pastries, cakes, and more.

Fun fact, it has been said that Bavarian cream is traced back to a time in which French chefs were working for the Bavarian rulers and learned a similar recipe. When they got back to France, they continued making it, calling it Crème Bavaroise (Bavarian Cream).

Snickers Pie

If you're expecting some friends or family members to come over to your house, and you happen to be clueless about what to serve for dessert, fret not. Snickers Pie can come to your rescue.

It consists of Snickers candy bars which, apparently, were invented by Frank Mars in 1930. He allegedly put in some chocolate to an already existing snack, and then named it after one of his family's favorite horses. This candy bar is basically composed of roasted peanuts and caramel mixture on top of a bar of nougat, all covered in milk chocolate. Just a bit of trivia; each Snickers bar is said to contain approximately 16 peanuts.

Fudge Brownie Pie

Here's an interesting recipe for a brownie within a pie.  Basically it's a big round brownie in a pie crust.  Sounds like the best of two worlds.

Chocolate Pecan Pie

Pecan pie is one of those desserts that I always wonder if it's worth the calories because there is no chocolate.

Today's recipe is the solution.  Add chocolate to pecan pie and now it's the best of both worlds with a great nut and chocolate combination!
