No-Bake Chocolate Truffles: Easy, Elegant & Irresistible

Want to make rich, creamy chocolate truffles without turning on the oven? You’re in the right place!

These no-bake chocolate truffles are the perfect bite-sized treat—smooth, decadent, and unbelievably easy to make. Whether you’re making them for a party, a gift, or just a little self-indulgence, this step-by-step guide will have you rolling out truffles like a pro.

Chocolate Truffles Recipe

What you need:

  • 8 oz (about 1 ½ cups) semisweet or dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (or your favorite flavoring—more on that below!
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 tbsp butter for extra creaminess
  •

For Coating (Pick Your Favorite!)

  • Cocoa powder
  • Crushed nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios)
  • Shredded coconut
  • Sprinkles
  • Crushed cookies
  •

What to do:

1.Step 1: Melt the Chocolate

Chop the chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl. The smaller the pieces, the smoother your truffles will be!

2. Heat the Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just starts to simmer. Don’t let it boil! Once you see tiny bubbles forming around the edges, remove it from the heat.

3. Combine and Stir

Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then stir gently with a spatula or whisk until smooth and glossy. If you’re using butter, stir it in now for an extra velvety texture.

4. Add Flavoring

Stir in the vanilla extract or any other flavors you like (see ideas below!).

5. Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for about 2 hours, or until the chocolate mixture is firm enough to scoop.

6. Roll Into Truffles

Use a small spoon or a melon baller to scoop out portions of the chilled chocolate. Roll each one between your palms to form a smooth ball. (Tip: If the mixture is too sticky, lightly dust your hands with cocoa powder!)

7. Coat & Enjoy!

Roll each truffle in your choice of coatings—cocoa powder for a classic touch, chopped nuts for crunch, or coconut for a tropical twist. Get creative! Try one of these Cocoa Powders from Amazon!

Fun Flavor Variations

Want to take your truffles to the next level? Try these mix-ins and variations:

  • Espresso Truffles – Stir 1 tsp of instant espresso powder into the warm cream before mixing with chocolate.
  • Liqueur-Infused Truffles – Add 1 tbsp of Baileys, Kahlúa, or Grand Marnier for a grown-up treat.
  • Nutty Truffles – Mix in finely chopped hazelnuts, pecans, or almonds for extra texture.
  • Spiced Truffles – Add ½ tsp cinnamon, a pinch of cayenne, or a dash of cardamom for a warm, aromatic twist.

Storage Tips

These truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week—or freeze them for up to a month! Just let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.

That’s it! A little stirring, a little rolling, and you’ve got yourself a batch of elegant, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate truffles. Which flavor will you try first? Let me know in the comments!
