Make Your Own Chocolate Ganache At Home

Chocolate ganache is a staple in every baking household. It’s super easy and quick to make plus you can use it on a variety of desserts. Use it as a dip, frosting, topping, filling, and even as a cake layer. It’s smooth and silky consistency makes any chocolate dessert look irresistibly good. Here’s a simple 2-ingredient recipe to try on your own.

Basically, to make a chocolate ganache, you just need to mix cream and chocolate. The quality of the ganache is dependent on the quality of chocolate that you will use. Preferably, use pure chocolate baking bar and put chocolate chips at the end of your list (or prevent using it if you can). Using chocolate chips does not melt into the perfect consistency that we want for our ganache. But if you have no other choice, opt for a high-quality semi-sweet chocolate chip brand.

Homemade Chocolate Ganache Recipe

What you need:

  • 2 high-quality chocolate bars (total weight of 8 ounces only)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (8 ounces)

What to do:

Finely chop the chocolate bars and place in a medium bowl.

Over medium heat, heat the heavy cream until it simmers. Do not bring into a boil.

Pour the milk onto the chocolate, let it sit for about 2 minutes, and then stir with a rubber spatula until fully melted.

And that’s it! For storage, use an airtight container and refrigerate or put it in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

For extra oomph: Whip your chocolate ganache to create a mousy texture! Use it for cake filling or cupcake toppings.
