Lindt – Hello My Name Is Strawberry Cheesecake

The Lindt line of Hello bars is a new collection of dessert type chocolate bars. I just had my first one, the Strawberry Cheesecake in Milk Chocolate.

Oh the aroma--intense strawberry says, "Hello!"

Lindt - hello strawberry cheesecakeRight from the start, the milk chocolate’s creamy dairy notes and soft cocoa notes stand out. But not for long, because the cheesy and strawberry flavors hit hard soon after.

The texture is smooth but peppered throughout with very small crunchy bits of strawberry. There is a pleasant milky aftertaste that lingers a while. 

The bar is very sweet, as one would expect, but the milk and cream and honey and chocolate notes all work together to provide a good balance of everything.

I know, technically, we can call anything at the end of a meal dessert, but this Milk Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake really IS dessert! It’s rich and filling like dessert, and it most definitely pairs well with a hot cup of tea!

Rodolphe Lindt was a famous chocolate-maker in his day, and is credited for the development of a technique called “conching”. 

Conching is a process of heating, cooking and mixing chocolate for long periods of time. It brings out the best aroma, delicate flavor, and superior melting characteristics of chocolate. Mr. Lindt was significantly responsible for the worldwide reputation of Swiss chocolate!

Lindt roasts their own cacao beans and manufactures chocolate from bean to bar.

Lindt has many different lines of chocolate, not just the Hello collection.
