Dangers of Eating Chocolate vs. Running with the Bulls
July 17, 2015
It happens every year, thousands of adrenaline junkies risk their lives at the running of the bulls.
Let's take a closer look at the dangers of running with the bulls vs. our favorite thing - eating chocolate.
Shall we?
Where fatalities are concerned, running with the bulls has 15 counted deaths dating back to the 1920s.
Let me remind you, this is a voluntary event where participants go willingly into the face of danger...
Then again, so is eating chocolate.
But, how many fatalities has chocolate consumption claimed? None.
Of course, death by chocolate exists... it's just usually in the form of a layered chocolate cake, typically with fudge, ganache, or chocolate mousse between the layers.
What are the Rewards?
Well, there's the spike in adrenaline that some people crave. Then, of course, there's the very real possibility of being gored in one's intestines by bull horns.
The rewards of eating chocolate, you ask? Are there not simply too many to name?
Besides, spikes in adrenaline only increase one's need for an adrenaline rush. And, people can become addicted to adrenaline rushes, leading them into dangerous waters...
Here at CUO, we wouldn't want to promote something that could turn you into a criminal!
Chocolate on the other hand - soothes the soul, calms the senses, even quiets the whimpering voice inside that says, "it's only 2 pm, and Monday."
Near, Far, Wherever You Are
Chocolate is there for us at all times, not just at one convenient week during the year. And, it's normally right within arm's reach. Right where we can count on it.
Running with the bulls is held all the way across the Atlantic. Thus, most of us will only ever see photos or video of the event, never experiencing the coveted adrenaline rush firsthand.
We know chocolate milk helps repair our muscles. It can't, however, do this if our muscles have been impaled!
Eating Chocolate Safer than Running with the Bulls
To me, it's a clear win in favor of eating chocolate.
But - let's compromise.
Grab your favorite chocolate bar, or dessert (may I suggest this recipe for chocolate orange flan) and get your adrenaline rush by watching this video clip about running with the bulls. Then you can decide!
