Chocolate Margarita
June 8, 2011
Over the years I've seen several recipes for chocolate margaritas. I've made one version in the past. It was OK, though certainly not fantastic.
Here's a new chocolate margarita recipe that I just found on the Food Network website. Since Summer has finally shown up in Wisconsin I'm thinking this will be a special treat this evening. But I prefer blended Margaritas so I might try a variation on this.
Chocolate Margarita To rim the glasses: • Chocolate syrup • Finely chopped Mexican or bittersweet chocolate Put the chocolate syrup and chopped chocolate into 2 small flat dishes. Dip the rims of 4 margarita glasses into the chocolate syrup. Then dip into the chopped chocolate to coat edges. Set aside, upright. Margarita: • Ice • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup • 1 cup (8 ounces) tequila • 1/2 cup (4 ounces) chocolate liqueur • 1/3 cup heavy cream • 1/3 cup orange liqueur • 1 teaspoon almond extract • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Put the ice into a shaker. Combine all of the other ingredients in a pitcher. Pour enough for a single glass into the shaker of ice. Shake and pour into a prepared glass. Repeat for each. Serve icy cold. |
Enjoy!

Sure is too bad Mother’s Day and my birthday are past or I’d be asking for one of those to celebrate. Sounds yummy (& very interesting)!
