Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee Recipe

Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee Recipe

Ever since I started working from home, I’ve been guilty of ordering coffee every day. Aside from this being unhealthy, it’s also crazy expensive! I’ve always tried experimenting on a few recipes every now and then, pretending to be a cool barista, but it’s always a failed attempt.

Until today…

Because today, I may have made my perfect pick-me-up coffee drink. And the best thing about it? It has CHOCOLATE.

For this recipe, my inner barista self will provide two options: iced and hot. Because, let’s face it, we all have the iced coffee and hot coffee mood. Plus, it depends on where you live. I am from a tropical country, so we tend to prefer iced drinks. However, there are mornings where only a good cup of latte can wake me up. It’s totally up to you, is what I’m saying. 😊

Also, did I mention it’s super easy to make? Let’s get into it!

Chocolate Hazelnut Latte

What you need:

  • ¾ cup brewed coffee
  • 2 tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread (Such as Nutella)
  • 6 oz milk (Try hazelnut almond milk)
  • Optional: pinch of salt, cocoa powder for toppings

What to do:

Add the chocolate hazelnut spread into your freshly brewed coffee. Stir thoroughly to help the spread melt completely. Mix a tiny pinch of salt (or vanilla extract and cinnamon) to bring out the flavors.

When everything is well blended, top it off with frothed milk or whipped cream. Sprinkle cocoa powder on top and voila, enjoy!

Iced Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee

Well, technically you can add ice cubes to your latte and problem solved! But here is another recipe as an alternative:

What you need:

  • ¾ cup chilled brewed coffee
  • 2 tbsp chocolate hazelnut Sauce (or 2 tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread)
  • 6 oz milk (Try hazelnut almond milk)
  • Whipped cream
  • Ice

What to do:

Mix the chilled brewed coffee, chocolate hazelnut Sauce, and ice in a glass. Stir thoroughly. When everything is well blended, top it off with frothed milk and whipped cream. And, well, that’s it!

Optional: Add more chocolate hazelnut sauce on the top of the whipped cream for that expensive iced coffee look!

Another tip: For more chocolaty flavor, add chopped dark chocolate or mix in some cocoa powder!

Didn’t expect it to be that easy, huh? You can also easily adjust the amount of coffee, hazelnut, and milk to make it stronger, sweeter, or creamier depending on your preference.

Finally, enjoy! Grab your cozy blanket and your cup of latte or if it’s summer where you are (it’s always summer here on my end), sip that iced yumminess and beat the heat!
