Chocolate Gravy
August 8, 2012
I know, the first thing that comes to your mind after hearing the word gravy is the delectable sauce placed over potatoes and steak. However, there's another way to enjoy it, chocolate-style.
Chocolate gravy is a dessert sauce that you can use on biscuits, ice cream, and cakes, among others. It's a surefire way to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings. For a more elegant touch, put it in a gravy boat when serving.
Chocolate Gravy • 4 tablespoons cocoa • 4 tablespoons sugar • 4 tablespoons flour • 2 cups milk • 1 teaspoon vanilla • 1 tablespoon butter Mix cocoa, sugar, and flour in a bowl. Slowly heat milk to just below a boil. (Do not allow the milk to boil!) Slowly whisk the dry mixture into the heated milk. Stir constantly until gravy thickens to desired consistency. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and butter. Serve over hot biscuits, pancakes, or even scrambled eggs. |
Enjoy! 🙂
