We've planted, harvested, and eaten wheat arguably since the dawn of cooking.

For thousands upon thousands of years, we have depended upon this incredible plant to feed ourselves and our livestock...

Relatives of present day wheat have been discovered in excavations dating 5,000 B.C. in the Nile Valley, India, China, and England.

Used mainly as "human food" wheat holds nutritional value and is easily processed and stored.

Did you know wheat comes comes close to corn and rice in total world production? And, it is grown on more land surface area worldwide than any other crop.

About 20 percent of the world's food calories comes from wheat. That makes it pretty important!

In my home, bread has always been appreciated and enjoyed in many forms from banana bread, to cinnamon and sugar toast, to garlic bread with pasta.

This recipe for chocolate chip bread is easy and fun, and perfect for making in the bread machine!
