Moser Roth 35% Ghana Milk Chocolate
January 25, 2016
This Moser Roth® 35% milk chocolate bar is made from 100% Ghanaian cacao.
It contains 5 milk chocolate squares, individually wrapped, adding up to slightly over 4 ounces (125 grams). Each bar is the perfect size for snacking, and is totally satisfying.
Kilwins Republica del Peru 80% Dark Chocolate
January 18, 2016
During the holiday season, I was leisurely strolling along State Street in Madison, Wisconsin, with friends, when they abruptly steered me into a sweets shop.
While sugared candies quickly got their attention, I focused on finding the chocolate. I ran into the homemade fudge first, but I am OK with that kind of distraction!
Taza Stone Ground Organic Chocolate 87% Dark
January 11, 2016
I have reviewed many tasty chocolate bars over the years, and I rank this bar among them.
Several things make the Taza Stone Ground Organic Chocolate 87% Dark delicious and unique. For starters, it is a single origin, organic, Bolivian cacao. Next, it’s stone ground. Lastly, it’s a Direct Trade chocolate.
Divine, Cheese, and Wine!
January 4, 2016
A friend of mine, Amanda, recently moved into new a home. “I’ll bring the wine and cheese”, says my friend Kathy. “I’ll bring the chocolate”, I say, “Why don’t we pair the chocolate with the wine and see what happens?”
They agreed to the plan, but confessed to not having much experience consuming the two at the same time. However, being lovers of both chocolate and wine, they couldn’t see a downside. This would be an opportunity to eat, drink wine, and experiment – a few of our favorite activities!
Southern Grove Trail Mix with Rainforest Alliance Certified™ Cocoa
December 28, 2015
You have to be cautious when choosing a trail mix that contains chocolate. Sometimes the chocolate pieces are “chocolatey” pieces -- meaning they are sugar-coated chocolate-flavored confectionery candies. Yuk.
Guittard Nocturne 91% Cocoa
December 21, 2015
91% cocoa is an extremely dark chocolate. If you want to taste a multi-bean chocolate blend without the distraction of other added ingredients, then this is your bar!
Actually, there are very small amounts of added sugar, vanilla, and cocoa butter, but considering that 91% out of 100% is pure crushed cacao, these are not much of a contributing factor.
Goodnessknows Very Cranberry Snack Squares
December 14, 2015
I picked up a package of goodnessknows® Very Cranberry snack squares at my local Sam’s Club.
Not only did the photo of the squares entice me (dried cranberries, whole almonds, dark chocolate!), but what really captured my attention was the “100 mg of Cocoa Flavanols per serving”.
Alter Eco Dark Quinoa Organic Chocolate
December 7, 2015
I like Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah). I’ve had it in cold salads and in warm hot dishes. And, just recently, I’ve eaten it crispy and surrounded by delicious dark chocolate!
The Alter Eco brand Dark Quinoa Organic Chocolate bar is absolutely wonderful. The chocolate is 60% Ecuadorian, and the puffed Quinoa is Royal Pearl Bolivian.
