Brownie Carob Oatmeal Cookies Recipe
July 29, 2015
Have you tried cooking with carob?
We love chocolate, there's no hiding that.
But, we realize there are a few reasons that send people to the store in search of a replacement.
Carob... what on Earth is that?
Carob is chocolate's fraternal twin, or perhaps more like its step-sibling. It isn't really chocolate, but has a somewhat similar taste and texture.
Carob is sourced from the pod of a tree that grows along the Mediterranean. Inside the pod is a sweet pulp that is dried and ground into powder. Carob chips can also be used as an alternative to chocolate chips in recipes.
Brownie Carob Oatmeal Cookies
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, beat together mashed banana, oil, vanilla, eggs and milk until creamy. Add flour, carob and baking soda. Beat well. Stir in chopped nuts and oatmeal. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto oiled baking sheets. Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes or until just firm. Cool on wire racks. |
Enjoy! 🙂
